For those looking for the best of the best in a fast tele, here's one to consider.
With Mutar lll series 1.4x and 2x extenders it gives you a 200 f2, 280 f2.8 and a 400 f4. These extenders are designed for this and two other Zeiss Contax teles. I've seen the Mutars sell for $400 to $500 each new so for less then 6k you have three of the best telephoto lens you can buy. Like many of the Zeiss optics for Contax, the focus barrel rotates in the direction of cine lenses thus making it possible to use standard follow focus units with out having to modify them.
Adapters are available to go from Contax lens mount to Canon camera mount.
Since a lens like this must be firmly supported on mattebox rods I don't believe that using an adapter is an issue.
I'm not one to drool over lenses, but I sure wish it was mine!
