Here's pics of the new AirSeaLand Breakout Box -
PLEASE note that this is a DIFFERENT PRODUCT with a DIFFERENT PURPOSE than the Element Technica Video Breakout box.
We met with Stephen at ET last week and checked out all his stuff in person, and we will be adding his breakout box and EVF mount to all our cameras - the ET stuff is fantastic!
This product from AirSeaLand - allows you to teather to a BOB - tested at 50 feet so far -you can leave the panel on the camera - and use full size XLR for audio, etc.
AirSeaLand is launching a new site this weekend with specs, etc. - just wanted to give you guys the sneak peak - and yes - we will beat the S$%T out of the prototype and report back.

sexy,
do they cover this
http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9991
i know notthing about audio, but regular adaptors are possibly not working.
for dummies:
can i use regular XLRs, what about phantom power.
would it be difficult to include "levelers" for the audio to avoid clipping?
and how much of dollares will this cost.

is it purely a breakout box or does it have a downconverter?

So do I still need the ET break out If I were to get this? I'm confused because you mention that you still are purchasing the ET unit as well.

This looks like the ultimate breakoutbox, actually, 'cept from covering the hdmi port.
But I guess this comes ONLY with remote functionality.

I would HIGHLY recommend getting the ET unit as well. It is much smaller. It will protect your DIN connectors, give you full size BNC and it barley adds any size to the camera. Our plan is to keep the ET unit on ALWAYS - unless we need the AirSeaLand unit for audio, and/or remote BOB - and there are plenty of situations when we'd want that.

Hey Mark, you in town?
I am back in NYC - I was in and out of LA - I can only last 3 or 4 days tops in LA before I start freeking out that all the humans are trapped inside cars.
I'll will be back in LA a couple weeks after NAB for few days of meetings - I assume I will see you at NAB!!

I've been keeping up with this product for a while now. It really looks good.. the prototype does not seem to have labels, but that's coming I'm sure.
Personally, I plan to put this thing on and never take it off.. It covers those little jacks, and turns the camera into ALL INDUSTRY standard ports.
I also LOVE the breakout box has a start stop.. That saves me ANOTHER accessory.. And the DVI cable can reach 50'.... This just gets better and better.

Mark,
We really should meet at NAB. With all the name confusion between us, it's time. Plus it would be interesting to compare notes on our operations. Would like to talk to you about your feature production work.
I'll PM you with my contact info.
Cheers,
Mark

I hate my PM box!! Going to leave it full.
I am very easy to find - mark (at) OffhollywoodStudios.com
I have several funny "mistaken identity" stories regarding people who thought you were me or I was you!
There is also a DP in 600 with the same name - that is one reason I have always used my middle initial "L."
In Vegas from Sat morning - thursday -

Of Course! Also, we will meet soon about all things Phantom during NAB. We are going to go after "extreme Phantom workflows" in our new facility.

We are very close to shipping out our first batch of RIP Panels and RIB Break-out boxes. First batch ships the end of the month into the first 2 weeks of December. Here are a few pics on how the unit attaches to your RED One. Total assembly time is under 2 minutes.
We recently made a revision to our Mini-Q audio board which allows the user to switch between RED's original audio board (pre-update) and their new audio board.
Our new site is up as well. Full specs/features will be posted shortly.
Thanks to all RED One owners who expressed interest in our product, we are certain that you will find it a useful tool in your productions.

a dumb question I guess but...
Does the red side handle can fit above the breakout box ? I didn't see any pictures with both fixed on a R1...
