This topic may have been covered already but I couldnt find a thread that answered my question so if i am being repetitive here just send me a link to the thread that I missed. So heres the problem...

I have camera tests that were shot in both 2K and 4K. The proxies for the 2K material work perfect but the proxies for the 4K stuff have a random colorful pattern filling the lower 3rd for the screen. Trying to play these back will crash QT. Seems to be a codec issue to me or some sort of incompatibility. I have tried going back to version 7.3 in QT and that didnt work. I am currently running QT v7.4.1 and OS X 10.5.2. Thanks for the help!!

You probably try to play 4k 16:9 in quicktime, which doesn't work.

They work fine in RedCine, though.

I'm unsure how you should get audio off these files, if you need to.

OK that makes sense... So the 4K proxies just don't work then? I just export out of RedCine and use those? In that case is there a way to batch this process?
