Certain things are worth resurecting...

As one of those from the "DIY Crowd" ( A lovely label BTW ) I think certain points of view need to be voiced time and again so as not to be over run by the propaganda and subtle Marketing going on here, its too easy for something extremly relevant to get buried by an avalanche of new threads and posts lost forever in the confetti of information and dis-information here.

As an absolute begginner I have learned most from reading and then researching the posts by Laguun, all those threads are saved on my hard drive for frequent reference...And speaking for any other people out there who feel they also are lost and wanting of clearity, I can highly recomend you digging up those threads and browsing through them yourselves. Then you will be equiped to make an informed and rational conclusion as to what your options really are before placing your bets.

There are many viable alternatives to what is being offered as the Holy Grail ( By Scratch and its disiples )

My decisions and conclusions with what to do with the limited budget I have to work with have been heavily influenced by the concrete, clear, and concise explainations I have read from him ( Laguun ).

And the reMarkable thing about it is that the information he offers doesnt have a hidden hook with a price tag attatched to it. Its is for free, he isnt fishing after clients or trying to peddle anything.

I am very grateful and so is my wallet.

Is this off topic? I see this as having enough continuity to be kept and not seperated from the original thread about the price of scratch...
