Hi guys, how about a redcode 100 MB/s for 24 fps.
isnīt this the max badwith that we can extract from red drive?

Hi there mtseng,
Unfortunately not.. We are pushing up against the limit of the RED RAID bandwidth already (or at least getting very close).
Cheers,

and what kind of a computer you want to use???(NASA!!)/storage/ rendering of shots will take housr/and why?? The compression is ok. The images are great and the workflow is already heavy.

100 MB/sec is really no big deal if you've been doing uncompressed for some years....
I've been thinking about 72, when recordibg gear allows, and have had a secret guess we'll see that within the year, maybe already @ NAB.
But I am NOT complaining on the images here! :)
Let's just wait and see what 16 brings us.

i think that might be pushing the red drive too much. it might run ok until the drives fill up more than halfway. they just released 7200rpm 320gb 2.5 sata drives this week so sustained 100mb/sec speeds aren't too far away.
the real question is why 100mb/sec? i can't see a difference between 28 and 36 now. will i see a difference at 50 or 75? would be interesting to do tests but i'm sure red is already up on this.

I am not sure but i think the less compressed is more easy to the cpu
only the hard drive disks speed need to increase.
100 MB/s will require less processing power than 28 MB/s
you will only have a good raid 0 disk config

I only care about seeing 4k 60fps to red drive.

Our camera platform does not support 100MB/sec.

All these camera demands, and yet the scripts and content hardly keep pace with the technology.

LOL!!!
We sure need a RED SCRIPT FIXER!
Personally, I'd like to have the RED DISTRIBUTION ACCOUNTING AUDIT DEVICE.
