I am absolutely interested in Scarlet to go along with my RED camera. But I won't be able to attend NAB due to productions that I'm committed to already. I've two productions that are during April 12th-21st so there's no way at all for me to attend.
But I'd still like to make a reservation or buy one or two of the cameras.
Will it be possible for RED reservation holders who have not received their first camera yet to buy or reserve one of these if not attending NAB. Please work something out for those of us who trust in you and your products to also be able to reserve or buy this camera.
And if reservations are only possible at NAB could I send a proxy or member of our production team to buy or reserve one or two on my behalf.:)
Thank you for your consideration for those of us who can't attend the show. Glad to be working during that time but sorry I can't be there to meet everyone.
All the best,
Frazier Nivens, Ocean Imaging RED#3002

originally we were told there would be now res list for Scarlet but Red one owners would get first crack at Scarlet.
Don't know if that has changed

red took my reservation over the phone for the red one when i couldn't make nab. with something as high profile as scarlet, i'm sure they'll want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to reserve scarlet. remember, scarlet might be described as professional but it's all about the numbers and that's not only pros, not only prosumers but also consumers.

I'm really bummed too because I can't make it. I'm hoping Scarlet would be available on-line directly after NAB, or perhaps a mass email will go out for reservation owners to order ahead, that would be sweet.

I hope they can server the Scarlett out quickly because I really don't wanna wait for the 3,000+ RED ONE owners to receive theirs before I can have mine...I'll go crazy if the wait is over 3/4 months

Be prepared to go crazy! ;)
If they have Scarlet ready to ship at NAB I'll be very surprised.
Remember they are still in heavy development/beta with the RED ONE. I believe they will reveal specs and show a prototype at NAB this year. Hopefully I'm wrong...

I am almost positively sure.
But I haven't heard Red One Owners have first dibs.

I thought this was the case, but looking for the original post I did not see
that particular response, but I remember somewhere about Jim saying Red One customers were going to have first chance to buy, no res, just cash on the barrel head.
but then again I remember Dewey defeating Truman so.....

Does anyone from Red still come here to answer any question? Not speculations, real and valid questions...

Actually, they do it quite often. Jarred is scary fast in his responses more often than not.
The reason nobody from red is answering any of the posts here is because they don't want to spoil anything before NAB.... and I think they might have a couple things to work on in the next couple weeks that are keeping them occupied.
If you have a legitimate question for something that won't cause them to spill the beans about NAB, post something in the red one forum and you should get a reply in the near future.

Last official word from any RED team member, and I believe it was Jim himself that said it... No reservations will be taken for Scarlet. RED camera owners would be given "priority" and they will have "prototypes" at NAB.
