Hey everyone,
Red 1123 is here in Florida now. Everything looks fantastic. The camera is amazing and all the parts have the new finish. Everything matches and looks perfect.
Randy from RED did an amazing job taking care of my order. Randy, if you read this, thank you again!!!
I have to admit, I felt a bit guilty buying all of this stuff! So I turned it into a family affair and had everyone get involved with opening the boxes. Even my mother-in-law!!!! He he....
I am looking forward to meeting a bunch of you at NAB. See ya there!
Here are some pics---

The Mother In Law photo is Iconoclastic.
I want a poster.
Red is indeed turning out to be quite the cultural phenomenon.
Congratulations #1123.

What matte box and follow focus is that? Just being nosey? Is that a DVX shooter getting the 'making of dvd footage'? :)
Happy to see delivery in the 1100 range. Congrads.

I see some parts in the last photo that aren't from Red, are they?
Does your mother in law still ask if you've found a real job yet? :)

Awesome, what part of Florida are you in?
I too love the in-law photo that could be a new marketing poster for Red!
Should be getting ours next week, let me know if you would like to get together and have a big Red shoot out.

He he.. I got a kick out of some of your comments..
Yep- you have to get the mother-in-law involved so that way the wife is cool with the camera. I married my high school sweetheart, so I have been with her a long time now. I know all the secrets!!! Number one secret- get her mom involved and get her supportive.. If I can pull that off, the rest is easy.. : )
Anyway- don't let the matte box and follow focus system fool you. I really had no idea what would work and what would fit from my older equipment. That is a chrosziel matte box and follow focus. This one is really set up for smaller dv cameras like my JVC HD100.
I knew I was going to have to go to something different- so I really had to pull out all the stops and talk the wife into letting me get the Arri MB-20 II along with the FF4.
Also, I talked to Element Technica and the were fantastic!!!! I wanted that video break out box they have because I think the design is awesome and it will take serious wear and tear off the mini connectors.
Thanks again Element Technica!!!
And thank you Jim Jannard!!! For making an amazing camera. And your team as well. I am so proud to be a part of something new! Something different! And something revolutionary!!!

Ops, I missed a couple of other questions you guys had...
Yes. We have been doing video production in South Florida for several years now. We have done several local and national ads. At the end of April we are going to shoot a feature about an American WWII submarine. This will be a huge undertaking because our team has never done anything longer then a 30 min documentary.
So yes- we are documenting every step of the production. From our production meetings, to receiving the camera and then all the behind the scenes during the making of this picture.
It should be really cool.
Klang- two hours south of you.. Port Saint Lucie. We should hook up! I think we need a local Florida Red group.

Congratulations, Jonny. Now you need that underwater housing!!!
BTW I bought a 12mm Arri Zeiss so I would have something to rent with the housings. I will probably normally use a Birger mount - but can't expect a renter to have that. Might be perfect for your sub shoot. It is on its way to the Philippines right now, but will be back in two weeks.
