If they're new, they should have Leopard. In which case you should be fine.

I'm actually run Leopard with latest Quicktime version.
No problem at all using Redcine build 9O. The only problem is that I have to trash preferences every two or three days (when the app crash loading new clips).
I erase all the contents of the folder called "Redcine" in Library.
After this, all the things start running smooth again. No need to re-install the app.
Maybe there are something wrong in my system...
Just my 2c.

Elcurdao, there is a small script called "Redcine Reset" i think Anders Holk Posted it somewhere here which does exactly this and after that starts Redcine. A nice and very handy little script :) thnaks Anders

For my new Mac Pro, I had to go to QT 7.4.1 under OSX 10.5.2 to keep everything in balance. It's working here. I have since upgraded to the same on my Macbook Pro and I can report success.

Yes, an occasional reset is needed after a crash. This is also the case under Tiger w/ QT 7.3.x too.

Leopard and QT 7.4.x are still not officially supported, but what else can we do with these new systems and keeping other software happy?
