Hi, Please re direct me if this has been covered.
I've just shot a music video at 2k and want to edit in fcp for a 1024 x 576 master.
I want to take advantage of the original image size. In the past, working with hd I simply bring the hd file into an sd sequence and the size is still there should I want to scale the image up (crop in) etc... I need to be able to push in and reposition the frame etc...
When I try to bring a 2k file into a 1k sequence it renders it solid green. The same happens even when i try to re position a 1k image left or right...
Anyone know the best way to edit at 1k but still be able to take advantage of the original size?
I've already lost 2 days of a 10 day turn around!
Please help!
Thanx!

What are the specs of the machine are you editing on, what have you output your footage from RedAlert/RedCine as?

i think he's talking about proxy files. at least that's exactly what i experienced when i try to edit and scale my 2k proxies in fcp. the h proxy looked ok but the f proxy is a green mess. i've never experienced problems on the same config when i export from redcine first.
