Taking a break from the Tiger sharks for a short while. Had a down day and so decided to play around with my Canon 400D with my latest Tamron 90mm f2.8 Di Macro. I wouldn't have had the chance to do so if this little guy hadn't made a surprise entry and set up camp in one of the hanging plants. Great subject and a great lens.......

Cheers,
Mark.

The creativity offered with RAW is amazing. I'm just discovering what most of you guys may already know and I am stunned. The images above differ very slightly from their original but I have made small changes and a slight boost of the saturation just to get those eyes to pop, to excuse a pun.

Cheers,
mark.

Mark those are great! The eye in the first shot is amazing. Love 'em

Hmm, looking at it again, is it just me or does that little fellows occular attributes bare a striking resemblance to the "Eye of Sauron" from the LOTR trilogy?

Probably just me :) Thanks for posting them again Mark, that broke up several minutes of paper shuffling office work.

Tamron has always made good macro lenses. Used to use an early 90 on my Nikon FM and was very impressed. And don't forget about Treefrog Beer. lol

Definitely. When I saw this photo I was thinking how cool it would be to see some 2K or 4K Red footage of this little guy.

nice! try doing some LAB moves to bring out even more variations and subtleties of the colors. :)

Poppin' enough for you?

Cheers,

PS Non calibrated monitor and an over zealous saturating hand !!

nice! although I like your first rendition better. was that a LAB move? or just saturation?

macros are fun. i'm thinking of getting a canon's 185 macro.

i think that's so cool you can find a frog just hanging around like while taking a break and being able to shoot it.

here in LA, i can go out and shoot a car producing smog. :)

Poppin' enough for you?

Shite, all those colors just spilled all over my keyboard, and the frog leapt out and I'm now chasing it all over the room...

On assignment in south Africa for 6 months. Bugs everywhere and a new Tamron 90mm f2.8. Next stop may be a bit colder so a whole new range of beasties.

Cheers,
Mark.

Can't wait to get started with RED RAW. The MP-E65mm, super macro to 5:1 lens, will be wicked for some topside macro stuff like these.

That will be really freaky.
Cheers,
Mark.
