Ive been doing some tests trying to find the best workflow for a comercial Im shooting tommorow. Since its only for broadcast I'll be shooting in 4k, do some quick transcodes to sd in redcine for offline in final cut, use crimson to render a dpx sequence from the timeline xml and cc in DS.
The easiest and fastest method is to export in 720x576 for the offlines, but no matter what compression I use I get the "the following media files are not optimised for final cut pro" and the image is 100 times inferior than the one I get if I play the files directly from quicktime. Ive tried this with dv pal, prores and prores hq, but since the quicktime playback is excellent I know its an fcp issue. I dont want to rerender through quicktime or compressor, its a big waste of time...
Anyone seen this and knows a solution?
