Is there a way to manually set the Record Run timecode (which the Red menu calls 'Edge Code')?
Also, out of curiosity why call Record Run timecode Edge Code and Free Run timecode Time-Code?

No. Edge Code on each magazine always starts at 1:00:00:00

I think the Red paradigm is to work with edge code just like it works on film. That is, the edge code for each frame is fixed on the film negative and is not subject to any camera control. So no matter what strange settings you manage to make on the camera, the edge code is always a known quantity.

Hmmm, that seems like an imaginary problem. Record Run is a very useful feature available on every professional (and prosumer) video camera on the market. I don't know how I could set my timecode to 'strange'.
It might be a nice feature to allow professional users to set the 'Edge Code'.
That being said I still think it's cool that I can have both Free Run and a simplified version of Record Run in the .r3d.
