Kinda depends on where you live doesn't it. Those on the upper story of a secured building in SantaMonica probably don't even need the shotgun.
Although a friend of mine who had the shotgun had it stolen also by the burglers?

I have a big safe in my house... It's a walk-in concrete room in the basement under the front porch. roughtly 7.5'x10' and has a heavy vault door (like the one on the safe in JVB's link) that covers a standard 2'8" width and 6'8" opening. Actually, they're pretty common with people who collect things (like guns, large coin collections, etc.. and such) and dirt cheap to build into new construction of a home. Not really any more cost than buying one of those heavy gun safes in JVB's link. I use mine for storing the things I collect, but even more than that, it's a mostly fire-proof place to store documents, important data archives, valuables when I leave town, etc.. For those not familiar with gun safes, it's a huge industry. Especially in the USA/Canada and many sporting goods / outdoor recreation stores rank gun safes as one of their top selling items. Only logical since guns are too. ;)
Its fireproof as long as nothing catches fire on the inside of the safe right? Hehe

Yep! :)
But at the same time it gives me a nice store room for things and it's rather secure. A common thief isn't going to mess with it and it's far more likely that any fires are going to come from exterior events or something stupid I do in the garage. I doubt my computer backups, accounting records or coin collection are going to spontaneously combust, but I suppose it could happen. :)

Well, you just know there's a guy somewhere who put his camera or laptop in his fireproof safe complete with faulty lithium ion battery (http://www.geekologie.com/2006/07/another_dell_explodes.php)....

I'll keep that in mind the next time I get the urge to place a notebook PC in there and leave it turned on. Oh, I'll be sure to snap before and after photos too... :)

im still implementing an explosive device into 1015... that way if it ever does get stolen.. i just press my big red button that says do not push and viola! i check the news the hollywood insider the next day to learn of any camera accidents on site, and ill find my robber.
lol... a bit extreme but it would work :)
I was thinking it might be cool to have a pin number lockout option on the camera... that might deter people from stealing it.
