What standard is the 10 Gigabit ethernet fibre port compliant with....IEEE 802.3ae?

We don't know... But good chance of it. That would be my guess. There's a few other 802.3 10G fiber variants, some aren't finalized yet. There's also a chance it could be proprietary, but I somewhat doubt that. Then RED would have to also provide the interface for the other end of the system. And I doubt they want to lock their customers into using a proprietary interface and RAID / Capture solution.... Hasn't been their style so far (re: the various standard FLASH formats).
