Wait until NAB.....see, that was easy!
While I'm waiting till NAB, does anyone want to guess what device/s may hang off the USB 'device' outlet?
...or give a tantilising clue, it's bigger than an ant, smaller than an elephant?

Not sure about a 'device,' but I think the USB port is to control the camera/settings from a computer, or to update the firmware.

Curran,
I'm referring to the connectors marked M & N on Ander's 'what port is that' sticky thread. See attached thumbnail below......
Jarred comments on these usb ports here.....
...."The usb port is not mini.. they are both full size. one is male and one is female, so the camera can act as a host and as a device....."
Cheers,

I would see that it could act as a "host" for other devices such as a hard drive or maybe even a mouse or keyboard. As a hard drive host maybe you could use it to back up a redram or playback footage.
As a "device" is where you would hook it up to your computer and the red one would act as a "device" to either allow computer control, firmware updates, again transferring off of a ram or something like that.

For the Type "A" slot (host) the most obvious feature would be WIFI or bluetooth dongles. Stuart has hinted a few times that it will be possible (at some point) to feed live metatadata to a PDA.

Thanks,
They have also said the SD card would be for settings & wi-fi control. I'm also hoping most metadata would accompany the data. It would make sense to have this available via usb thou.
As mentioned ( a thousand times) be cool if the 'A' slot could backup all data from the flash cards to Raid 0 REDDRIVE or even better from any drive to 3rd party external usb drive.
For now I can sleep knowing it can charge the camera operator's mobile phone.
Cheers,
