So these are the supposed prices of Avid New Hardware line up:

This was posted on the L2 by Terence Curren:

Mojo SDI - $2,495
Mojo DX & Media Composer - $9,995
Nitris DX & Media Composer - $14,995
Nitris DX & Symphony - $36,995

That last one supposedly includes CPU, don't know about the middle two.

Wondering if they're going to bring DS Nitris down in price at all.

Mojo SDI - $2,495
Mojo DX & Media Composer - $9,995
Nitris DX & Media Composer - $14,995
Nitris DX & Symphony - $36,995

I can probably find this out with fairly limited browsing - but what is Mojo DX? And Nitris DX? And what's happened to Adrenaline?

[Edit: Googled a bit - seems like a positive development I think. $10k for HD I/O and basic finishing capabilities is pretty decent. If it were a year earlier I wouldn't be spending hours at a time cursing at FCP]

Adrenaline EOL.... And the DX is the new series that replaces the DNA hardware, except for the regular Nitris and Mojo SDI. Mojo DX (Basically Mojo HD) falls in between Mojo SDI and Nitris DX. And Nitris DX seems to be the new equivalent Adrenaline; And it gets 6 steams of DNxHD 145, realtime, no rendering.

Adrenaline is history. Nitris DX has improved architecture using PCIe bus. The whole setup is very fast, I've seen 7 HD tracks with 5 DVEs palying in real time. Here is more on pricing for DX series from NAB:

Hi

Can somebody ask if Nitris DX is capable of a RGB workflow? (can you hook it up to a HDCAM SR deck as well with dual HDSDI?) I would assume this might only come with Symphony. If RGB is left purely to DS that would be a shame considering how fast RGB is filtering down. The life expetancy of Nitris DX would be compromised.

To be positive price looks good!

thanks

Michael

The answer I got so far is that Nitris DX is 4:2:2 only with Symphony and Media Composer. It is however unclear whether or not the box has dual link HD-SDI, and whether or not the box itself is capable of 4:4:4, for example when paired with DS. Probably some more info will surface next week.

Update:
They've dropped the price of DS Nitris to 100k.... not a huge price drop but it's still a drop.
