For everyone residing in PAL-countries; RED tech support answered this to my question of Redray's 25fps playback capability:

The REDRAY is limited to 23.98 and 24FPS at this time. Higher FPS playback such as 25FPS may be enabled in future firmware updates, however there's no guarantee or ETA for when this may occur.

Ummmm , well that's dumb.

So RedRay is only for theatrical productions or NTSC land? Seems a bit shortsighted and blinkered. Can't say I'm surprised when you look at frame-rate options on Red cameras.

Im so glad i did not get a redrayplayer! Its also annoying with framerate choiches on the epic. Would not be hard to put the power to record a couple of frames extra to make everyone happy.

I'm just no sure what to do right now. Any other (currently available or doable) option seems to be a bit of a patchwork. Or am I missing something here?

This is why I cancelled mine, I had ordered one too, put being in a PAL country 24FPS was not for me. I asked and got the same answer.
A pitty, I would have loved to have one too...

Same reason scarlet has zero (practically) interest in PAL land.

Very silly and ignorant oversight.

Really surprised about this... It's hard to believe that the player has not enough power to play 25 fps footage... I hope they will add that soon !
