I think we all got bored of people shunning scarlet and being greedy (including me at first, just the greedy part though) so why not just offer Scarlet footage, of course, that is if the camera is complete. That'll quiet down the noise.

The Scarlet is a brick of aluminum at this moment. How do you think they will be able to show you footage? If it was finished, they would have shown it at NAB, not an aluminum model. I don't expect to see more details until fall 2008. I hope that they will show a working model at IBC in Amsterdam.

if there is nothing how can they introduce the camera ? Wouldnt it be a little strange to talk impressive words about something what doesnt exist yet ? That would be a car show with drawings instead of real cars..

I'm sure there is a Frankie version of Scarlet...or something like that. But I wouldn't count on footage for a while.

BTW nice to you on the Red boards, Luis. Good to see ol' DVXuser folks on here.

Car shows actually show concept cars which are trial balloons of fantasy cars that will never actually be released. So there is something similar.

Scarlet will be released but it will probably have at least somewhat superior specifications to what we're hearing (that's how RED's gotten such a great reputation) but with an entirely different looking lens and body.

At least I hope so because I want to see a real zoom and focus ring on the lens, which wasn't shown at NAB ... I'd be pretty surprised if as intense a photographer as Jim would make us live without those.

How about footage of the accountant being told the price point would be $3k.

I hope we see something in the not so distance future. I am hopeful that it will look pretty awesome. More waiting and lots of patience.

yeah, hope you aren't just posting for the sake of posting. That comment is invalid along the lines of how things have been going around here.

I found out much later when they allready were shipping... Im from europe I found it with a little luck.

To be honest I found the Silicon Imaging 2k first and much later the red camera because I was looking for a review and they compared it with a red one..

Anything news from silicon imaging this year ?
