Woa... sorry about that. Not sure why that image didn't post correctly. It was supposed to be a picture of Isaac Newton :)

Sanjin, feel free to PM me and explain this... and I'll unlock it. But with the amount of chaos in here the last few days, I'm gonna lop this one off.

Ahhh, the Fig Rig! I hear it works extremely well for handhelds, but garners a lot of odd looks from stragglers in the street. Nevertheless, for the price, anyone can add it to their (Scarlet) kit. Saves $$$ on buying or even renting a stedicam rig. How does it perform in tight, like in a small apartment on location? (And for you jokesters, there's lots of room to hang your snacks, too! :>)

Leaving Las Vegas was shot in S16 and my guess is that Sanjin's point is that a Scarlet is in the ballpark of this particular brand of filmmaking -- in terms of image characteristics and the stripped down style of filmmaking that lead to inventions such as the FigRig.

I'm guessing the point is that a certain Mr Mike Figgis will be very much down with the idea of Scarlet and will probably use it in the future.

I think David Lynch will too!

I don't know about Lynch. there were planty of HD options available to him and he opted for the "beauty" of DV res, limited dynamic range, etc, etc. I think a certain ugliness in the texture of the image appeals to him. otherwise he would have grabbed a small HDV camera instead.

I put RED ONE on my Fig Rig and it can work but you have to be really strong in your arms and shoulders to carry on longer.

So Scarlet is coming and my Fig Rig is waiting on a lady .

i'm guessing you had the red one pretty stripped down for the fig rig... sounds like a workout..

That's true, but he's been shooting with the Sony V1 since INLAND EMPIRE. He's keen on using smaller cameras with autofocus and said in interviews that he'd be looking to use small HD cams in the future.

It's basically a wheel.

Nothing very complex, but quite effective.

somehow I can't imagine that this will stabilize anything, but that's probably because you shouldn't drive if you're drunk.

Muroshi.

supposed to be that this weekend you were eating a lot of Fondue and mixing to much Rose wine with Kirsch.

Getting dizzy.

Keep in mind that Fig Rig is a wheel like device.

If the Scarlet's lens control for the focus and iris (wireless or wired) works well than it is one of very desired option to shoot.
