2:1 footage workflow

When recording 4K 2:1, what resolution are you outputting for use in FCP? At 2:1 aspect ratio, 1080 pixels tall is too wide for Color to handle. Should it be cropped somehow? If some of you could share your Redcine export settings that would be much appreciated.

in redcine, set your projects settings to whatever you want to edit with (from your post i assume 1080p), then import your footage and in the "shots" room select "fit to height" and there you go!

4k 2:1 RedCine output for color should be 2048 x 1024.

Yeah that's what I came up with but I wasn't sure if that was right. Those extra pixels were stressing me out. :)
