Those at RED, please buy a firestore and learn everything about it so that you can make the RED Drive nothing like it! I can't think of a less reliable device than the firestore. No matter how much you know about it, it will still find ways to screw up a production. First off, it's too complicated for what it is. Second, it doesn't really communicate well with the camera. Third, and one of the most important things, its firewire ports are so loose and sensitive that it will disconnect itself from the camera without being moved. This might sound more like a bashing of the firestore, but I just want someone at RED to assure me that the RED Drive will be much more reliable. Obviously there are situations where a HDD is not going to reliable, such as high vibration mounts or rough handheld, but I want to be pretty confident on a tripod and in low impact shooting situations.

The RED ONE connects to the RED-DRIVE with a secure LEMO. Drives are cheap but workable. If you are the least bit nervous, use RED- FLASH.

Jim, any idea what sizes the express card flash will be? Will you guys be producing the cards yourself??

I'm thinking of going this route in conjunction w/ the hard drive solution

I agree I don't trust fire stores anymore.. I like the red flash and will use it most but I will say this for studio set up I am loving the RED Drive its cheap and big that is awesome.
