Day after NAB..."Ralph" has landed in Oakland. Many thanks to Jim and everybody at RED. Thanks to Randy in the Bomb Squad for moving this out fast! Can't wait for back-ordered EVF and Bottom Plate/Dovetail so I can finish building my rig. At NAB I compared the EVF to Sony's F35 and F23 viewfinders; no contest. The RED EVF made the Sony viewfinders feel like toys.

WTF! I'm still waiting here in Seattle. I think you might be the first in our batch, at least the first that has posted. You should feel my envy from the Emerald city. Congrats!

Hey Paul,

Congratulations on your new baby! We met at the Red user group meeting at the Westin during NAB. Hope you can tell us about your first experiences with the camera as you start using it. If you're in my area, Monterey Bay, let me know if you need some help.

Hello
I have a question regarding the backordered bottom plate / dovetail :
obviously you cannot attach lower rods (so no mattebox other than a clip-on model nor FF) but can you at least fix the camera on a tripod as it is now or is the bottom plate necessary for this ?

I understand this is all temporary due to the backorder situation but I need to investigate and find workaroud if our camera also ships without those parts next month...

Thank you

Yes, you are still able to mount the camera without any other hardware.
