I know this may be way too early to ask this question. But I am currently an HVX200 owner and thrilled about the prospect of Scarlett. Especially seeing that it will be priced 50% less than the Panasonic HPX 170. I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

As I own a Redrock M2 adapter, I was wondering if it would be possible to use the Redrock M2 with Scarlett?

I heard that Scarlett will have a fixed lens. But would that prevent it from taking a 35mm lens adapter like the M2?

Thanks in advance,

- Nicholas

Nobody knows the exact specs of the built-in lens yet, except that it's (currently) an 8x zoom at T2.8 max aperture. In theory, there should be no problem using an M2 adapter on it, the same way you use it on your HVX200.

However, what remains to be seen is the effect of 3K resolution on the footage using an M2 or other 35mm adapters. Because Scarlet is much higher resolution than most anything else out there, the grain on the ground glass might be more noticeable than on other cameras. Right now it's just too early to tell how well the M2 will work.

That said, I don't see any real reason that it can't work on Scarlet.
