Epic will be important in many plans in the future, but for now, I'm more interested in what an upgrade to the Mysterium X sensor will get me. Hope you will keep us posted as things develop.

I stickied Big Jon's FAQ and split off the commentary, just keep everything clear. Carry on...

Sorry if this is obvious, but I believe this is the first time I've heard of "Pro Finders"...I'm assuming Big Jon's referring to an updated EVF that hasn't been announced before. Cool! I haven't gotten my hands on the original Accuscene-derived EVF yet but it looks like a magic bit of kit from all I've read. I wonder what the PRO-improvement is...1:1 pixels? 1K/1080P/2K monitoring? Though at that range Im not sure what the exact benefit of increased resolution would be. Can the human eye resolve that many pixels at such close range? Anybody have an informed opinion about this?

My reference to a pro finder would be the new 7" LCD finder shown last week at NAB. Brighter, contrastier, bigger and light...a new benchmark for on-camera LCD finders.

Does the new LCD have better viewing angles than the current one?

Given my history with RED, I hope we are given the choice to wait in ordering until Epic is not only shipping, but is also OUT OF BETA.

While I have enjoyed the roller coaster of RED's development (Reminded me of a rather crazy girlfriend from college... Nuts, but she was worth it!), I am not sure I could go through that again. When/if I upgrade to the Epic, I want the option to do so with the camera in full bug-free order, and all nessesary components (like the EVF) ready and shipping.

This is NOT a complaint, I am happy with my RED, and I understand I am on the cutting edge. But when Epic comes out I will already have my RED One, so I do not need to get into any type of beta program with Epic.

I Hope this post gets read by the right people.. I have a feeling others will agree with me.

Thanks so much

Jay

PS and of course, this will include a working, multiple platform, editing support also.. But I am sure once RED get's the SDK out, this will no longer be a problem
