Sorry to ask what may be a very undocumented question, but I was wondering what is the availability of the camera for people without reservation number.
In short, when will the Red be available for the masses?

why is it so hard for people to either, read a few threads, or use the search function to find the answers to basic questions like this.
but to answer your questions, you will be able to please an order either at NAB or on the website. a deposit will be taken but no serial numbers will be given out i believe. i think deliveries would be around November / December, but i'm really not sure about that.
edit:i was a bit grouchy this morning and i did not mean to be rude. sorry about that.

If you've got any further questions try using the search function of this forum - you'll find 99% of the questions you have will have been answered more than once already. If you don't find the answer from a search then by all means start a thread and ask it!!

Obin, you'll get yours between August 3rd and August 7th.
My number 411 will arrive on July 11th by FEDEX at 9:47 A.M.
I was pushing for earlier in the A.M., as I have a shoot scheduled that day, but you know how it goes...

But, I understand the question other way: When will red be available direct in the market to buy it in the same day (week) you decide you need it?

Who knows? About all you can do is get up early on April 16 and wait for RED to open the orders up again. I think there are 1475 reservations in the cue and those are supposed to ship by late Sept.-Oct? - again nothing is firm here. So I would imagine if you put a deposit down early on April 16 you MIGHT get a camera by end of year? You might be able to either rent one when you need to or some early RED adopters may sell? But I don't think RED will have a ready "stock" of cameras sitting on a shelf at least for the first few years.

i would lean more towards the february date.. im 1015 and i prolly will be getting mine around septemberish.. MAYBEEEE.. no new buyers without a res will get a camera until late late 07 - 08.. imo

never. You'll always have a lead time.
