Don't know if this would work with the Red but it looks like a great cheap option for making your own SSD using your existing Compact Flash cards:

It can take up to 3 Compact Flash cards in either a Raid 0 or Raid 5 array (maximum theoretical capacity is 2TB...not sure how that would be possible?!!) Seems to me that standard SSDs are pretty much the same thing on the inside - arrays of lots of smaller flash memory modules. I'm guessing if you can have 3 Red Compact Flash cards in a Raid 0 array that should be pretty fast for recording RedCode RAW? Would it even be possible to have three 300x non-Red 16GB CF cards [= 48GB] in a Raid 0 array (would that be fast enough?) It's Sata too so should be able to interface with the Red somehow.
