I got my first opportunity to shoot with Dragon & Panavision Primo lenses last weekend and on a project I can actually share! I've used just about every prime available in PL mount but until recently my Panavision exposure had been limited. Suffice it to say this glass is really special, I love my Optimos but there is something almost anamorphic about how these render, and the color rendition and skin tones on Dragon are superb, especially under the mixed tungsten and practical neon lighting.

You do know that Ian who designed most of the Primos then went off and was a main part of the Leica design team for their great lenses....

Yep. Pretty much exemplifying why both of these sets of primes are just banging. You can even see it in the iris design really.

Hey Phil, how do the Leica m mounts compare?

Hey Phil, how do the Leica m mounts compare?

They don't directly. Entirely different lenses on every level. They are sharp and small though.

Hi, I was looking at the Michael Bay featurettes for Transformers4. I see that he's using Panavision lenses mounted on REDs. So I did a search and another REDUser link came up that seemed ambiguous to whether that lens could fit on PL mount RED.

So I searched the Panavision site but still couldn't see a RED with their lense on a stander RED PL mount. I'm hoping an industry pro can chime in? Just wondering if I ever get a chance to rent a set for my PL Mount Scarlet. Thanks.

What Kemalettin said, Panavison provided the PV mount with the lenses.
