Anyone had luck using Morgan Multimedia with CS3 to encode and edit with ??
sure has good image quality...now if we can get realtime playback on the timeline working it's nice...

I talked with some AJA guys....(aja kona ect)
and with David Newman of cineform, they said the decode of jpeg2000 is way too demanding on a system....very innefficient codec CPU wise.
They figured it would be years before we see it in realtime.

That to me is the single most impressive software achievement of Red - that they have been able to essentially achieve real time decode of what are essentially J2K files (OK, a tweaked, possibly "hacked" version of it) in software.

not that hard when you use CPU power in parallel..I am sure they split up the image into quadrants and compress it in real-time..not hard when you think about it like that..

I can't get any realltime playback with Morgan codec running...black magic works like a charm....been using it at 1080p going out fullscreen on a DELL 24inch monitor...1:1 output! no hardware! looks 99% like the original TIFF RED files from RedCine...and THIS using the 8bit codec, and they have a 10bit 4:4:4 codec with the high end DeckLink cards...
