So far nobody is talking about the NAB coverage, which is pretty important subject.
Suggestions :
1. RED booth - edited coverage + live webcam feed
Yes I know there will be other parties covering the event, but there will be many good ENG guys from Reduser also, so why not?
It would be really cool if RED booth coverage was done with RED.
By webcam feed I mean here really good video stream.
This is 21. century and this is RED. At least 1-2 Mb/s, if not higher.
The point of this would be simply sharing the feeling of the event with Redusers who can't be there, nothing more, and I don't see why this would be a problem if the technology and interest exist - unless it's in collision with company's policy or marketing strategy.
I apologize if I underestimated you RED guys & gals, and this has been thought of before.
I brought this up just in case you are buried in more important stuff.
2. The coverage of the whole event
Is anyone from REDuser planning to do a detailed video coverage, about all the news and subjects we are talking about here
- or how about you guys teaming up ?

Perhaps they could cook spaghetti on the booth, why not, it should be possible? I mean they are RED. Could be, that they have nothing to do than streaming a picture from a 4K camera out to the world. Hey man, you're right, I'm sarcastic.

Spaghetti?? Dude, it needs to be tamales with RED sauce.
As for NAB coverage, I mostly want to see lots of pictures and see postings of all the new products from RED and others, tech specs, etc.. While I wish I could go, I can't so I'm also hoping that new RED footage will be made available online in some form. Even though it won't even compare to the projected 4K at the show. But I'm very eager to read what all my fellow redusers think of the 4K projections when they see it.
...And being #1110, I'm comfortable knowing that I will have the opportunity to see, touch and use RED for myself before my # comes up.

At NAB, it's not what is said on the stage, but what is being discussed in the back of the room that matters. There will be plenty of RED messages getting out through all the hype and while I applaud Jim & Co. for feeding this site some morsels, they do not need to become a news or broadcatching provider.
Imagine the "bad press" when the RED-link goes down due to all the other IT confusion at NAB. And it's a union place to bet, so if Oscar does not get his $50 bucks each hour he may just disconnect that one cable by "accident."
So Jim & Co. please stick to making lasagna and the rest of us will have to live on the morsels handed out by those who make a living feeding us news. Good luck getting some fair caverage but there's a rumor that a few of them will be in Vegastown when your booth opens... ;)

P.S. Even the King of hype "Mr. Jobs" does fewer live webcasts!

You heard about wireless broadband, right?

Innovation - not following what other people do.

The NAB Exhibit Hall is a wireless nightmare - why should they risk it?
Besides what have you got against Italian food? But seriously we here are the well connected and we don't need any more channels of unfiltered info. Others will rely on their traditional channels - even if those have become "old" media focused podcasts like TWIM or DP Buzz.
Change is good, but too much marketing innovation muddies the message.

P.S. This is my final post on this subject and yes I have some understanding of the issues as I have produced webcasts for Apple and Akamai from tradeshows - albeit never from the show floor...

streaming from the floor - I've worked too many shows to want to get in on that nightmare. And if they did, you wouldn't be able to hear anything, is sooo loud at these deals. It was bad enough at the Back Of The Universe booth last year, but this year being iPod-throwing-distance from Apple's booth with their loud pre-recorded preso stuff would make it even worse.
I'm sure Jarred will have AMPLE coverage, and he'll certainly have all the skinny in advance (since he's working daily with the guys).
I'll be working the Red booth the first couple of days at least as well (as I have in the past), and you can trust that hdforindies.com will cover with the usual level of intensity.

if there's a way to get a clean wifi signal on the exhibit floor, streaming can be done quite easily using a service such as stickam (http://www.stickam.com) which actually does a fearly decent job of live broadcasting your feed through the internet.
Hope this helps.

it is the the clean consistent wifi that is a challenge. Well, one of many challenges. Seriously - please notice that NOBODY does it.

I hope some of you who go, make a short video and post it on youtube or your website within hours, so we at home can droole a little too...
And donīt forget some stills too, thanks!
