We have one red in stock but a second just arrived and everything is fine expect a little problem, you shoot to drive or cards, once you connect it to the laptop the files don't show unless you restart the mac once or even twice sometimes!
With our first RED it works fine and files are shown, with the second i have to restart every time!
Intel MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz
1Gb RAM
Quicktime 7.3.1
Tiger OS X 10.4.11
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I know this problem, it's your firewire cables.
It only like the wide gap shielded Firewire 800 cables with magnets on both end.
Like the one that come with some Lacie Hard Drives.
Try |__| not |_|
=0------------------------1394-----------------------0=
0 = magnet to reduce noise

Or try a firewire 400 cable ... its not a camera firmware issue. Every now and again my Mac laptop refuses to see the USB-2 based CF reader that I use. Have to unplug the reader and / or the CF card and its fine.
