I just went this past Friday. It was the whole point of my trip to LA. However, my good friend and DP and I shot a 35mm to RED test as well and we'll be posting the results this week.
Okay, now back to RED Day.

Everyone who owns a camera should go. If for nothing else but to meet the RED team. Everyone was awesome and it was my pleasure to meet everyone.

Thank you Brian B for everything! Thanks for your help with the footage...
Thank you Kevin for the great presentation and insight.
Thank you Big John, it was a real pleasure to meet you.
Thank you Kelly for the speedy checkout and smiles.
Thank you to the Bomb Squad - it was a blast!
Thank you Jim for making all of this possible.

Aloha -

How do we sign up for RED day?

You'll get an invitation from the RED team once your camera has been delivered. It takes awhile to receive the invitation, but right now it's only open to people who have received camera delivery....or atleast have a reservation and are awaiting delivery.

BTW, nice to hear you had a good time Shawn! I was going to go this past weekend, but I had to change my dates to this coming Friday. I'm leaving today, and I'm excited! First time to LA.

I wanted to also say it was a great experience and nice to meet everyone. Red has a very energetic and passionate team and it was nice to be around that excitement and energy.

Kelly thanks for everything!

I agree it was a great time. nice to meet you Shawn and can't wait to see your 35mm to RED test. Funny to run into your buddy Chuck, I had just been hanging out with him at the bicycle kitchen a week earlier. And thanks to Red for hosting this event, its quite rewarding.

Shawn,

It was great meeting you. I was the guy with the Blue Hawaiian Helo shirt. I'm sorry we didn't get more of a chance to talk.

Red Day is definitely worthwhile - highly recommended. My Red Day was two days after I received my camera - perfect timing! There are many people from Red there to answer questions and to help show things; everyone is patient and they really do everything they can to get you up to speed.

I must thank Kelly for letting me in the last minute since I missed the RSVP deadline while I was overseas and will be out of the country again this week. Last week was my only window of opportunities.

I was glad to meet my handlers Dan and Travis, very personable and energetic young fellows.

Got my 101 quick personal tutorial on the camera and got post workflow ideas in Kevin's presentation, great thing for someone who has not even unboxed his cameras.

But the best part was that one of the bomb squads told me they are going to completely revamp their web buying system in the future and a physical store might be open in several months for in-person purchases.

Honestly, RED really needs to overhaul their accounting system. I wish their internet shopping experience could catch up with their technology and customer service.

I wish their internet shopping experience could catch up with their technology and customer service.

By mid-May, we expect to launch My Account section of RED.com where you can change your contact info, update your ordered items, update bill to and ship to addresses, check order status, check current account balance, etc. it is going to help both of us (you, the customers, and us, the BOMB SQUAD) a ton when this is all able to be done online instead of a phone call or email.

Also, we will soon be launching a REAL FAQ section on RED.com that should answer a bunch of questions that you would normally have to email us to ask or search on REDUSER for.

I will be sure to pass on the hundred combined emails and calls we got yesterday asking "What is RED DAY and when can I come?" to you, Shawn. :)

Glad everyone was stoked on the day, it is like a mini-NAB in our own backyard :)

Hi guys, how's it going with the "My account" section on RED.com?

I think this could have been its own thread?

RED Day is just a Half day in States, and is it worth from Asian RED owners to fly on plane for 13+ hours just for Half day @RED headquarter ?

Is there any RED Certificate signed By Jim, Grame and Stuart to certify us a RED one Certify Trainer ?

I leave it to those RED ASIAN owners.

Cheers,
Stewart

Visiting Red is like being a kid and going to the toy store. But when you open the doors, and see a very beautiful red head greeting you, it is more like going to heaven. Each one of the Red Team Members are terrific. The place is like Shangri-La for "big kids".
