I heard that recording the audio in the camera is hissing, so, shall I'll do it film style? Record the audio on a Flash Card, maybe 24 Bit, 48 Khz and using an electronic slate, syncing later on FCP?

What frame rate should I give to my files? 23.98? 24?

I imagine my FCP session will be 23.98, correct?

I plan on recording sound on old mini DV cameras I have laying around. Many posts ago Graeme told me that shooting 23.98 and recording the sound on the mini DVs at 29.97... the audio and the video should be easy to sync. So if the two differing rates sync up, any other setup should be easy to make work.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: but I think the audio problems are being sorted out, so you will probably be able to use the camera for sound if you so desire. Maybe after build 16, especially.

27.97 and 23.98 are the same thing 23.976 is just being rounded when written down. So when we say 23.98 we mean 23.976.

Line input sound to a DV camera is certainly no better and probably worse than line input sound to the RED-ONE.

The issue with sound to a RED-ONE at this stage is microphone input with the microphone under phantom power from the RED-ONE.
