Hope with Black Magic?

Red users....anyone have luck using the BlackMagic DeckLink as a PC solution with premiere? reasons for not buying a DeckLink HD card and rendering into the blackmagic 10bit 4:4:4 codec at 1080 or 2k for an HD online? the codec looks good...downloaded the software even though I don't have the hardware yet...

good --- bad --- ugly of this idea?

There's no reason that shouldn't work. But encoding to that codec will take a good while, and you'll be 'baking' the processing settings into it obviously.

you could go cineform 4:4:4 4k realtime with no hardware acceleration.....

same drawbacks as stated above, but more benefits

I use my Multibridge Pro with Premiere CS3 all the time.

You can even use a standard drive to "offline" in their mjpeg HD codec.
