Is the Line Audio Out Enabled on the RED? Please let me know.
Also, is there an adaptor I can purchase to go from the mini 5 pin to the standard size 5 pin?
Where would that be?

Yesterday I quickly checked the output connector.
It seems to work, there is signal on both channels.
I made the cable (5pin switchcraft to 2x XLR 3pin) myself.
I used the pinout as explained in the manual, except that I used pin2 for GND, as it seems connected to GND on the 3pin Inputs)
That is:
1: L+
2: GND (not as described in the manual!)
3: L-
4: R+
5: R-
I'm goint to test it further this evening.
Maybe someone from RED can confirm the usage of pin2 for GND/Shield

The connector is working with the cabling i described in the last post.
I connected it to the "return A" input of my sound devices 442 mixer and could listen to playback of the camera.
While recording you can listen to the A/D and then again D/A converted signal so you'll hear if there is some digital distortion or hiss.
I just used Input 1 and 2 on the camera, so they appear 1 on Left and 2 on Right channel.
Probably the output follows the headphone settings, so when you have 3+4 or Quad Mix output, this signal will also be present on the Audio Output 5pin connector.

Glatti,
if the audio follows the AD / DA path, is the sound on sync with picture when recording (listening to audio output and looking the picture at video out)?

I did yesterday the location sound recording and I cannot tell as I couldn't watch the monitor. But there is a noticeable delay from direct sound to the sound that comes back through the camera.
