Anyone using a 24" iMac on set??
Is the fastest one decent enough?
These are faster than any Apple laptop??

The fastest MacBook Pro has a 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB max DDR2 SDRAM and max of 200GB 7200 rpm hard drive with 17" display and NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 512MB is $3,399. By Contrast, the same configuration in an iMac is only $1,699 with a 20" display and 300 GB hard drive.

But you can get a 24" 3.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram and 1 Terabyte 7200 rpm drive for $2,399 a full $1,000 cheaper than the slower, lower capacity MacBook Pro.

My recommendation however (best bang for buck) would be the Mac Pro with Two 2.8Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 4GB Ram and the 300GB 15,000-rpm SAS hard drive for $3,799.

Hey thanks for that ilugger link...that looks perfect. I keep doing more and more editing work on set and the 17" PowerBook is not cutting it....

Been using the ilugger for about 4 years, and can only recommend it. Takes the "stationary" out of the iMac :)
