I signed up as El Stupido to DVXUSER. Then I've eventually signed up to RedUser... as El Stupido... Now you've made scarlettuser. Great stuff... Can't you migrate the user database? Or have one *.user login for at least the red sites?

I think scarletuser.com is unrelated to RED DIGITAL CINEMA. One of the users created it.

Nope, ScarletUser.com is official... ScarletUser .net was the user site (now ScarletIndie.com I think).

I kinda agree though... A single user account wouldn't be a bad idea.

However, I'm not so sure I'm in love with the completely separate forum concept anyway. So much of the post workflow considerations, RED software, third-party tools, etc.. are all going to be the same. So much information is going to be duplicated between the two sites and some good information may not make it from one of the sites to the other. In the end, once that footage leaves the camera, it's still 3K REDCODE and will be handled the same in post whether it was 3K REDCODE shot with Scarlet or shot with the RED One.

Gotcha, Thanks! I couldn't agree more.

After putting more thought into it, the separate forum may be the way to go... Hate to say it, but over the next several months or even a whole year, most of what will be posted about Scarlet will be speculation and noise. Nice to just have it off on its own site. Bridging the gap with the same user account database would simplify things, but I can see a lot of people not wanting an account both places and it's not a big deal once you register anyway.

I think the big issue will come in the future with post tools, processing footage, etc.. There's going to be a lot of duplicate information between scarlet, red one and epic. It doesn't make sense to have this info split up across multiple forums or someone miss a valuable tip on one forum because it's only posted on another. Perhaps the sites can eventually share a database for post workflow and technical info forums. For example, the same REDCINE forum area would be seamlessly accessible from both reduser.net and scarletuser.com and perhaps an epic forum if that happens too.

It would have been nice if you could just use your RedUser account on Scarletuser, but it's probably too late now...

It doesn't really matter though - it doesn't take that long to set up an account...
