... Freedom!
Freedom from dashed hopes and failed promises. I know I'm not alone when I say, the frustration of seeking financing for your multitude of projects in development, remains the biggest stumbling block towards completing small indie film projects.
Owning a RedOne will undoubtedly offer me the privileged position of crewing and casting with a minimal budget plus the added advantage of finishing a project in 4k (which still feels like a dream, just saying it). I will hopefully be able to create and create until I can create no more... this is truly an enviable position to be in (lol).
Can't wait to have mine...

I haven't slept more then 6 hours since i placed my reservation. Reduser.net is my homesite on all 5 macs. I am counting down days until NAB! I've got a short ready and a full feature I'm working on now.

...having a high-end, economical, versatile tool suitable to all types of production. But it's what you do with it that counts! It can't save a bad script or bad acting, or bale out an incompetent director, but when used by an experienced, talented crew it should be able to produce the highest quality digital images possible in the industry to date.

A good material will always attract worthwhile cast/crew, but add a high end capture medium and you have a killer set on your hands... that's my point and not trying to substitute one for the other.

I completely agree, RED will make a great addition to any production if you have all the other pieces in place. My only point was that simply owning it has only so much meaning--it's what we do with it that counts (and it's only part of the equation). But I guess that goes without saying.
EDIT: Just realized I used the word "only" three times in that post. You'd think it was the only word I knew.

I finally get to control my DOF without having to get 5 miles away from my talent!
In finally get control of my color correction... REAL control.
I can afford it.
Aside from that, most things will be the same. Movies are movies. If I'm bad at making them now, the RED won't make much difference.. But I am excited.

You are right on the money, exactly the money no one is willing to risk with has Storytellers with little money but so much passion and will to make words in to moving frames, my Red cameras will give me the only chance to make my dream a reality with no limitation on quality vs. money, I do not care if i will give all my equity money to Jim, he deserves every penny of it, any one wants to work for free? Yhaa I do not care if I have any money left for production I will have all the tools to make a movie, so wath if I can not pay any one, I can coock great Italian food for every body and every saturday nigth party at my house.

Just like you, Ketch, I'm banking on my RedOne to help attract a worthwhile cast/crew working for a peanut budget, of course knowing a tight material and loads of passion, besides the RedOne kit is all we've got.

Almost, Mardi_gras,
never forget that waht separates as from the studios is "UNRESTRICTED FREEDOM, POWER TO SPEAK FROM THE DIPPEST POINT IN OUR SOUL, AND MOST IMPORTANT WE CARE ABOUT THE PROJECT FIRST AND MARKETING LATER NOT VICEVERSA.
"WE ARE FREE IN THE MIND AND IN THE SPIRIT AND WE SPEACK TRUE THE IMAGES OF ARE CAMERAS"
Well money offcourse is some time a bit of a situation to dill with, but if we comunicate to one on other and help each other out we can make enithing we want, be friends not enemies, be positive, never negative, we will nevere have problems we have situations that need solution, that is all, and I believe we are allways full of solution free of the boundaries of the Studios.
