Sorry, I meant the rumour was that the sensor problems had pushed it back three months from now.. ie Current June orders will be fulfilled from August/September

I don't believe any such rumors until someone from RED confirms. AFAIK, Big Jon's schedule should still hold. And it does reflect a several week delay from what everyone was expecting last month.
They are shipping cameras, at a slow and steady pace it seems. I see a slow trickle of people reporting they have received theirs. Mine is in the hands of FedEx right now, should have it in a couple days (curses to the weekend).

Well my reservation 3928 was scheduled for early August, now it's November, I make that 3 months. It can't go back any further surely? And the EVFs? One possible saving grace is that at least there are a good few out there for rental now.

That means you ordered just before I added 2...

Wow Steve,
I hadn't realized those later numbers had been pushed back that far. Hopefully RED is right and they will be able to beat this new schedule. They should be right about shipping EVF's to the low 400's now, so they're picking up, but it'll still take a while until they're shipping real-time with cameras.

Many of us have been waiting more than one year to get our first cameras, and delays have occurred in many occasions; I understand that and do accept can happen.
What I would like is to know about any delays in the production schedule, many people are organizing shootings counting with the extimated time of delivery we have been told at the moment of purchase.
If there will be delays, there will be some productions that are going to change the shooting schedule, if these start in 2008......
Let's hope are just rumours....

There is still plenty of cameras out there now if some people need to rent!!

it would be interesting on which source this rumour is based.
so there is no comment from red team - i think latest shedule by jon is still in time.

No truth to the rumors boys. The schedule, as it's posted, is still our target, and a conservative one at that. If things change, it'll be posted immediately. That way, you don't have to worry about rumors :-)

When I ordered our Red, I guessed a delivery date in November/December. I felt very happy, when I found out that it would come already in the Summer. So now I am just back to the old schedule. Ups and downs, just as life goes.
But at least I can hope that the Birger might be shipping by then, and that I won´t have to wait for the EVF... And Build 16 should be out of Beta. And maybe RedCode will be integrated into Final Cut?
Who knows... One way or the other, time is on our side. (But I do need the camera for 2009 planned productions.)

Big Jon's schedule is holding and then some. I just got my 3rd and 4th, and earlier than expected, plus a couple EVFs. Life is good!

I only just received my EVF a month ago and I have camera 158.
Cameras 1500-1750 are shipping now.
I'm sure you can all do the math.
EVF's are going to be a long long wait. RED ONES are easier to get over the EVF by a mile.
We have shot (before the EVF turned up) AD's using just the LCD screen.
No problem at all. Very simple and easy, After having the LCD mounted of the side like a view finder IN HELD use, I felt very comfy using it that way. So much so that I did not miss my EVF at all. I still do it now.
Pulling focus through the EVF is much easier using the EVF. less focus rock.
Mind you, now that I have my EVF, it's like GOLD. No pixels, it looks like I'm looking through a Glass lens eye piece as clean as a Panovision viewfinder.
Don't ask me how they did it, but they did it.
Unbelievable!

Hi; we were expecting the camera on late August according to the previous schedule... But now I see that there will be an additional 2-3 months delay... (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7464)
As the Red team always warns us not to plan productions until the camera is delivered; I'm sure everyone still dreams at least... about shooting on Red on/around the estimated delivery time.. At least, we prepare ourselves for a little more delay and say "we will postpone the project even for a month if the Red arrives late"...
...And there is a delay again which is natural and ok for many of us (including me).. Because we know it's definitely worth the wait!.. and like most of us, I also know how hard the Read team works and we do appreciate it ofcourse..
Yes, we've been waiting for a redvolution forever, so 2-3 months delay is no problem.. But, I only would like to know (if possible): Why is it delayed that much this time (2-3 months)? Is it simply a misjudgement?.. Is it the NAB?.. Is it the new cameras (Epic, Scarlet)?.. or a serious technical problem (regarding Mysterium or any camera part)?..
thanks.

It's been documented that it's a combination of several things, but it does seem a hell of a long delay. What we might hope is that, as it says in the schedule, the estimate is conservative (which they may have done to save putting it back again), and that in fact it turns out to be just a 3 weeks delay instead.

...let's just hope that it won't be 3 Birger weeks.
(Sorry, but couldn't resist)
