When using the L&T, the size on the clip will be about 1024 x 512 (or something simular). Why? Can I set it to a larger size? And if I set the sequence setting to 2K (2048 x 1024) and export to Color, the rendered DI from Color will be 1024 x 512 again. Why? Do Color, FCP use the original files for final export/render?

At the moment when using the L&T tool, it uses the _H.mov proxies so your files will be half res. If you are getting 1k files, then I assume this is from footage shot at 2k. At the moment there is no way to change the resolution with this tool. If you want full res. 2k ProRes files, you can export from RC or RA or use Crimsonworkflow to help you out.
