I'm converting some R3d files to DPX for import into an Avid DS. The time code does not come across in the metadata to the DS.
Is there something I'm not doing within RedCine or does my editor have to do something special when he's importing the DPX files, or does this just not work?
Curiously, a couple of the DPX files showed the time code from the R3d files in the DS but only 2 or 3 out of 20 or so. Was this just an accident or did we do something different?
Thanks for any help.

Can you look at the DPX files in another application to see whether the timecode is indeed in the header?

Yes, the time code is indeed in the DPX header. This was verified on import into Flame.

Let me look into it...

I exported some frames from ReCine on a Mac as DPX. I opened those frames up in MetaFuze which is Avid's upcoming DPX to Avid Media trascode engine and I can see tape name and timecode. MetaFuze is DS code... I will check with engineering to see what's up.

Hi,
I think there is a qfe soon which may help this issue. You can contact DS support directly and they may be able to send you an advance qfe.
Cheers,

Hi Tune... this is on the DS side.
I think I saw on the DS Forum that Sylvain had a QFE that you could get if you contacted him privately.

Attached is a basic guide for DPX conform that is from v7.5, but the steps are the same.

Lucas is right. Check out Avid DS Wiki for a RED conform article. (http://dswiki.wikispaces.com/Red)
