Serial Numbers ... ?

I don't know if this has been asked, I couldn't find it asked so ... I've noticed that not many Red products (CF Cards, Red Drive, etc) don't have any visible serial numbers.

Any reason why? Am I just not looking in the right spot and completely missing them? Not a pressing matter, just curious.
