Hey everyone, I've been planning on putting down a reservation for the red during the upcoming NAB opening but I've heard rumors of a change in ordering price. Is this true and if it is can one get a ballpark figure of roughly how much? I need to budget accordingly.
Thanks :w00t:
I'm very excited about the prospects this camera brings to the table and hope to make new friends here.

Click here... this should answer some of your questions. (http://red.com/pricelist.htm) I recommend doing that search Jim alluded to... there's been much discussion on this subject.

Now that I see your post maybe I should re-word my question. I'm not really concerned about the full price of the camera changing and I've read about that and I'm not concerned about accessory price. I meant actually bringing the needed amount for a reservation at NAB if it's not still $1,000. I read somewhere that the reservation amount itself may change. If it's in the forums I apologize and will freely admit I'm not the greatest with search engines.

We don't know what the holding deposit for firm orders at NAB will be yet. Jim?

We are likely to require a 10% deposit (fully refundable) on all orders placed at NAB.

Does this mean $1,750 for a reservation of the RED ONE?

come on folks , i know it's early in the AM ...
10% is 10% - why do we need RED to confirm 1750.00 ..
note RED stated 10% on ORDERS ... so you might also add to that =if you place orders for RED camera + any accessories ( if they do accept orders on accessories) - you might need 10% of total price as a down ?

We'd like to put our deposit down as soon as NAB opens so we can minimize our shipping date. Will we have to wait until after the first presentation (as it was last year) or can we plop down our deposit at 9:01 A.M.? Will it be clear who to talk to or where to line up with our credit card in tow?
Thanks.

No. Putting down a deposit will involve a maze and an initiation ceremony. Be warned, the colour Red will be involved.

Just call the number on their website Monday morning (the 16th). Save yourself the hassle of fighting the crowds and chaos at the booth.

Or even better maybe their webstore will allow you to reserve, a phone can be busy, but there canīt be THAT many who needs a 17.5K camera to block a website from working...

Something tells me that everybody who works for RED will be in Vegas that morning.
