18-50 Red lens snags

I just received a my Red bundle. When testing the lens (RED 18-50) I found that the iris was getting jammed on the zoom. The iris would only open so far before the zoom would feel a snag and then the iris would pop open the rest of the way. After a little while (15 minutes) the problem has settled down and the snag seems to have all but worn away. Is this a known issue?

That does not sound right. I would contact Red.

Ours did the same thing but with the focus and zoom rings. What colour are the markings?

Hi Cailyoung, It's the same as the store, Yellow markings. What was the arrangement for your replacement lens if you don't mind me asking? Just wonder how long I'll be without a PL lens.

We sent it back with the camera body - unrelated issues but was at the same time; turnaround was 3-4 days plus shipping. I imagine a simple lens replacement will be faster.

Our new lens (imperial markings) has white marks. Our original one had yellow. I'm thinking maybe the yellow ones don't like being flown over the Pacific?

I've spoken to Travis (@ Red) and he said he'll turnaround the lens in a day plus shipping. I'm happy with the imperial lens, we'll see if theres a colour change! I hope your issues were all sorted and thanks for the advise Cail.
