can't access the website at the moment. either their updating it or the server is getting lot of load. the one part i don't like about is the color schema. Redrock using the blues and zacuto using reds. it does not appear like a professional gears and look more like toys. can't they just be black?

Did this post get delayed or something? This is old news...

Is time going backwards? I was hoping it was some news on shipments since I"m still waiting on mine.

old news... the mattebox was unveiled at NAB, some pics were posted right before NAB...

The blue knobs on the mattebox are optional. They can also be ordered in red or black.

Well I allready ordered the mattebox but the shouldermount is new to me. For me it would be usefull to have them delivered in one shipment so I can save on costs...
Point is... is it sturdy enough to carry the Red One? Having the Follow Focus allready I think RR makes great stuff for reasonable prices sofar. So the shouldermount could also be a serous option.

Hi everyone

That's the official press release that went out for courtesy of our friends in media and publications. Also the website seems to be working for me here...

As Jeff mentioned, we offer black accents as an option on all of our gear, in addition to Redrock blue (and for the matte box Red as well).

Johan - I answered this in your PM as well. The microShoulderMount is plenty strong enough to hold the Red, I would just configure it to be a little more sturdy on the front-end (the microShoulderMount is configurable in a wide variety of setups, so you can interchange the parts)

I can't find a black option for the shoulder mount.

Is there any point in getting the deluxe version if one has the Red production pack?

Hi Martin

We don't have a black option for the microShoulderMount. If there is enough interest we may consider adding that option in the future.

Regarding the deluxe version, if you are referring to the microShoulderMount deluxe version, the difference is the deluxe version includes 15mm carbon fiber rods. For Red, I'd go with the stainless rods, since it's a beast and could use the extra stiffness

Hope that helps

I for one would prefer them in Black.

Call me conservative, if you must ;)

Brian,

So it looks like the spacing on the shoulder mount is 15mm LW, yes?

It looks like an awesome setup for the Red, but I'm unclear that once the Red is on the shoulder mount, that the rods are in a usable place on the red?

I'd like black for my shoulder mount. The blue is keeping me from buying one.

Hi Nate

Yes, that's correct. I'm not sure I understand the rest of your question? You can run the rods as part of the overall rig, or as a separate set of rods beneeath your baseplate. Hope that helps

My goal would be to put the Red body directly on your should pad, and use the rods on the HH rig to mount a 15mm LW mattebox as well.

Could that happen? I would think that LW 15mm rods BELOW the bottom of the Red are in the wrong place to use for lens accessories.

Nate

I think it's yes and possibly no: yes that you could mount the Red directly to the shoulder mount and have a 15mm lw rod system. Possibly no because then you have 15mm lw rods beneath the camera, so the vertical would be closer to the 19mm version. My guess would be for a 15mm lightweight matte box you'd need to have some riser for the rods to be higher for gear in front of the camera. Haven't tested this yet, but I think that's how it would go

Hi Brian,

great products.
What are the largest front diameters you offer?
besides the cookes and zeiss primes which will be happy with 45, our angenieux zooms have quite large front diameters...

Very interesting.

(Maybe a stronger ND too?)

All the best,
Jochen

Keep in mind this a starter pack - of course folks may want to add all sorts of other filters. We wanted to focus on what we (and many customers with whom we spoke) considered to be a good starting point: things that everyone could use, and at a great price.

Yep, understandable.
