Is there a shoulder pad for the R1? I didn't see one on the Red.com site, but I thought I'd seen one somewhere.

It's part of the Red Rail package.

Okay... I thought that was something else. Kind of expected the padding to be thicker, but that'll get the job done.

Can anybody explain to me what these four small wings around PL mount with two small holes are for? Can you get some standard brackets, hooks for that to hook something needed for lens control?

It looks like just the tabs for the PL mount to lossen and tightenn the lens. With a PL mount the mount spins to lock and unlock, unlike a still lense mount which the lense spins to lock and unlock. The holes are probably just a design aspect.

Finner's got it. The more recent body designs seem to forgo the "wings" for more subtle flanges.

Ok Anders, where do I get one of those Red business cards?

if that is the real size of the power pack brackets I would take a guess they will break off after about 1 day of rough run and gun use in the "real" world....hope they are not that small on the final version...

Its the same bracket as any other professional camera that uses a V mount... so not likely Obin.
