hello all...
i'm an ac and i've got my first job on the RED coming up. i spent today familiarising myself with the basic operations of the camera, and i've encountered something i'm struggling to explain.
i shot a few tests with the project frame set to 25 fps. when we checked the footage in redcine, it showed the frame rate at 24fps. we shot a few other tests at 30fps and 50fps, and the metadata each time showed the frame rate to be 24fps.
am i missing something?
the camera is owned by an owner/operator, so we don't have the luxury of accessing a rental house full of support. we've got the latest build.
many thanks...

nope. you are just missing the a bug free build of REDCINE like the rest of us. I reported incorrect fps meta data on PAL footage import months ago.

When you start REDcine it has the settings of your output not your metadata. You may find that you also have to change the resolution too.

You have to change the project to 25 frames and then go into the library and click on the bottom info panel of each and every clip and change it there too before you export anything.
Royal pain in the arse for anyone shooting 25fps.
I prefer to go FCP proxies - Crimson - Redline (as redline doesn't have the limitation)

Not sure what it will take to motivate them to fix this bug ... I gave up after asking too many times.
I am more than curious to see the next REDCINE build.

Things get even stranger when you look into the digital.magazine.profile files.
MEDIA.HDSDI.PROJECT_RESOLUTION = 1080?
MEDIA.RAW.PROJECT_RESOLUTION = Full sensor when shooting 3k?
