I know there's been a number of posts, in a number of threads, regarding Mattebox and follow focus suggestions. But I would like to concentrate information regarding the best options for a Nikon mounted Red.

Matteboxes are easy, the Chrosziel 411-50, just get an 85mm clap ring and 82mm step up rings.

Thank you Evin for your near endless source of information. I now have a set of Nikon lenses, all AI (except the zoom of course) :
17-35 f2.8
50 f1.4
85 f1.8
105 f2.5
135 f2.8
180 f2.8

Evin mentions the above Mattebox as a good choice, but how to deal with these lenses that all change length when you turn the focus ring, and which all have different diameters ?

About a follow focus, is the Red Rock Micro the best option for still lenses ? I'm certainly not buying or making any decisions before NAB, but I would be interested in any feedback from people that have used folow focus options on still lenses.

Cheers,
Damien

That's what Evin said.

- For changing diameters, get step up rings for all the lenses. 82mm will be the common diameter.

- Then you can mount the mattebox as a clip on, and the change in lenght doesn't matter. Otherwise you gan get a flexible hood for the mattebox if you want to mount it on rods.

Thanks fot the info Anders. I guess a clamp on or screw on matte box may be the answer with the Nikon lenses.

After initiating this thread I kept searching and did find two good threads so for those looking for info have a look here for follow focus info :
