Tasty. Looks like a render, if not for the dust particles on the mirror :-)

Jim I assume the eyeypiece has an adjustable eye focus on it. What I do not see is marking numbers and marking tics on the focus adjustment spin on the eyepiece. Numbers make it very convienient for the AC to know the setting for the DOP, Operator, the AC and the Director. Just wondering if there is plans for numbered marks on it?
Thanks

Gorgeous.
I'm seeing the EVF connector, the RED logo above [below in this photo, the EVF is upside-down] and then what appears to be a light. Is it a run light?
What's the little dimple on the ring just camera left of the interface buttons? A screw hole or something else? Sorry... I'm too observant for my own good sometimes.
Does the wheel on the EVF extend for manipulation or is it just a shallow knob?
I imagine there's a decent amount of glass in there... how heavy is it?
Can't wait to get my hands on this thing...

Hmph. It's a nice shot, but the photo is SO darn clean (and dark) that even an extreme levels adjustment in Photoshop reveals almost no hidden detail, aside from jpeg compression artifacts. I suppose we'll just have to wait a week for more.

Is it LCD? Or something else? Thank Goodness we can see it at NAB, as it and the external LCD are my two most important fact-finding projects on the RED...

Cool. Can't wait to see the Easter Bunny tomorrow on the screen. Better get up early, Jarred, before he hides all those eggs!

I have to say that Red certainly has a benchmark design and look-- the camera, lenses and peripherals look amazing, simple, and pristine.

Maan,
finaly an actual "design" has made its way into world of pro-equipment, which I really applaud.
I belive creativity tools should be made in terms of creativity-meets-functionality and this is definitely a significant step.
One more picture proving that, in my opinion.
I presume many people don't care about the design, but I kind of "notice these things" (mildly put),
and this type of mentality behind the camera's development makes me appreciate it more.
Great job guys.

Phew. Given Jim's recent thread titles of the format "Word..." I thought we were going to be told that the EVF was never going to exist, or that it was to be supplied by Sony, or something equally horrifying...

thanks curt.. coming from you thats a big compliment. :)
The great thing about the EVF is that it holds in its own right, ergonomically and designwise as a handheld viewfinder. As mentioned before many a time, opens up the the concept of seperating viewfinder from camera. I wonder in the future wheather these things can be wireless, battery operated and attached to a lanyard, so that a few key people on the set have one.
Yeah the photo looks unreal. Literally.

I like the sound of this Ace. I'm sure that something like that will come along eventually, now if the money would come along for me to own this and the LCD, I'd be in heaven. :)
Great pic Jarred!

Jarred, I'd love to pick your brain for your lighting setups for these [and Spike's] shots sometime.
Jarred, if i may call out on one thing :) Is the EVF upside down? heheh

Oh boy what a design, RED brings camera design and functionality to a new decade: Bolex, Aaton, ARRI (except the ugly D20) -> RED

Beautiful shot. I'll take one to go, please.
Now, can we see what it looks like when you look through it? Say... focusing on something that is a bit out of focus, and has a few spots that are too dark and a few that are just too hot? :)

Is anyone else noticing that so far every button, every dial and every single port is lacking that little thing we like to call "labels".
I love RED, but I sure hope labels are in our future here. As owners we're cool knowing what it all does, but the ACs may want some labels to remind them.
I am sure they will be there, but I wanted to make sure I said SOMETHING, just in case.
:)
