Just thought I'd finish up with my experience cancelling my Red. I posted about having to do so and having some difficulty contacting them, so I thought it only fair to say how it all played out.

After solving the initial difficulty -- they had me confused with another customer -- it went great. I wish I remember the name of the gal that helped me, but it's been over a month and I've forgotten. She was more than helpful. Even called me after personally doing the transfer to tell me that it was complete. And Jim Jannard also emailed me personally early in the process.

So if you must cancel, and I'm sure some of you will, it was quite painless and handled with professionalism and efficiency. Good on ya, Red Team.

Can't wait to see some people around town with Red's. If I go the low budget route for my first film, I'm definitely going Red.

Hey, I really appreciate your honesty in telling us all that things did not pan out for you this time around.
It would have been easy to keep quiet and let things roll, but it will be reassuring to many that if circumstances change then it is an easy process to withdraw as RED have always maintained.
Good luck with your endeavors and maybe you can rejoin the fraternity another time.

Cheers

Well don't leave the forums just because you don't have a reservation anymore! You're still one of us. :)

I'm sorry the reservation didn't work out but I'm glad to hear that it was handled properly.

I wonder if you could've sold your reservation?

That's the thing about "The red camera company" that i like. A really good customer service attitude whether it benefits them or not.

As we patiently sit back and wait for NAB, how many of us are wondering to ourselves how the testing is going with the first 12 cameras. We don't know if they have any made yet, but i for one presume they have and they are out there getting all the footage and testing done to ensure there are no obvious flaws prior to NAB.

Wonder if they will cover all the types of footage that the anti-red commented on that was missing!

I just hope that all goes well, especially considering the number of things that can go wrong even at this stage.

They're non transferable. That means that you cannot.

You could have let somebody "handle the finances" though then give the camera to them.
