Hello Friends,
Is it possible to use Super CCD Sensor for the 4K Digital Cinema?
Will it give better results than the current sensors?
Thanks

You can't change the sensor of the Red One. I suppose it's too tricky even for the Red engineers themselves to make economic reason. That's probably one of the reasons behind the full trade-in solution for the Epic.
And I'm quite sure they had a very close look at all the sensors in the market before even beginning their voyage into the future of cinema. If you are talking about Fuji's Super CCD, it has been around for a while.

I think you'd find it very hard to make a CCD of 12mp or thereabouts run at 60fps full sensor, and putting in cropped sensor modes for extra speed would be very hard also, and then you'd get vertical flaring under bright lights....
And then the camera would be enormous to handle all those separate A to D converters you'd need...... I wouldn't want to hand hold that camera!
